What are the benefits of becoming a member?
Members pay a reduced price on our monthly events, which include dinners,
lectures, picnics, wine tasting and visits to cultural and tourist attractions.

Do you have a Constitution and By-laws to govern the Society's activities?
Yes. We have a Constitution an By-laws. Are available up on request.
What are the requirements for membership?
Members can may be any nationality and must be a person of good character and
willing to promote our purpose of: Keeping our traditional values alive among
all citizens. Fostering the present friendly relations between Americans and
Panamanians (and all nationalities). Contributing to charitable organizations.
Promoting an alliance between diverse groups and individuals living in Panama.
Will the information on my application be made public?
No, we do not divulge your information to any other group. We are firm in our
policy of not exposing our members to unsolicited contact by outside groups or
individuals.
How will this information be used and to whom will it be disseminated?
The information is used to send out information about the Society, such as,
flyers, newsletters and e-mail messages. We do provide a listing to our members,
upon request, of limited information such as; name, address, phone and fax
numbers.
Can I attend an event if I am not a member?
Yes, you can attend any event if you are not a member. Normally non-members are
charged a higher entrance fee.
I don't live in the Republic of Panama. Can I still be a member?
If you are a member of the American Society and you move from Panama you can
continue your membership and we will keep on sending you the newsletter and
e-mail messages. According to our by-laws you must be a resident of the Republic
of Panama to join.
How do I become a member?
You can join the American Society by completing the Application form and mailing
it along with a check of for $50 to Box 184, Balboa, Panama or give it to any
Board Member. Your application will be voted upon by the Board which meets every
month. It is important that you indicate who is sponsoring you or how you found
out about the American Society.
